Description

Frederick J. Reitz Sr. was born 7 December 1844 in Hessen Castle, Germany. He married Elizabeth ?. Elizabeth was born 3 May 1852. He came to Wichita in 1877 from Nebraska.
Fred started a tin shop in 1887 in Wichita. Me was a member of the German Lutheran Church and of the Masonic Lodge.
Fred died on 29 April 1921 and Elizabeth died on 15 December 1938 in Wichita. Both are buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Four children are known to born to this union: Fred Reitz Jr., Harry Reitz, Frances Mary Reitz Schmidt Acox, and Stewart Reitz.
