Description

  • Rolla Sehon Sexton was born 30 November 1870 in Hamilton, Hancock County, Illinois, a son of William and Jane T. (Kelly) Sexton.
  • Rolla sold the first Wichita Daily Eagle on the streets of Wichita. He recalled, in 1920, that when the Eagle first appeared he was at the office and induced to take a bundle of papers and try his luck as a new s merchant.
  • Rolla’s occupation, when he was older, was a cigar maker and he was an international organizer for the cigar makers union. He later was known as a book author.
  • He died 25 December 1959 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. He was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma.
