Description

Frances Lily “Fanny” Sawyer was born 23 September 1858, the daughter of John K. and Emma Sawyer. She married Edgar Schermerhorn on 24 December 1879 in Sedgwick County, Kansas. Edgar was born on 5 March 1857 in Schoharie County, New York.
She came to Wichita with her parents in the 1870’s. She was a pioneer member of the First Baptist Church in Wichita.
Fanny died on 1 August 1942 in Elk Falls, Kansas, and Edgar died on 20 April 1938 in Wichita. Both are buried in the Highland Cemetery. Four children are known to born to this union.
